Thank you for taking a moment to view my Website.  Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Sean Phalen.  I currently work for Apple Care as an At-Home-Advisor and finished my last semester teaching at Rollins College in the Critical Media & Cultural Studies program and in Information Technology.  I have been working in higher education for over 12 years and enjoy working with students, faculty, and staff.

My transition to Apple was a logical one for me because I enjoy sharing my understanding of technology with others.  I love to teach, and when I can empower others through teaching, I feel very rewarded.  Prior to working for Apple and Rollins I was employed by the State of Florida, an ABC affiliate, Target, Publix, and a 40 lane bowling center in my home town.  I was also self-employed and owner of a Web design and technical support LLC.  I have a diverse employment background with experience in customer service, finance, management, training, designing, writing, live TV and radio, and pre/post production to name a few.

While most of my professional career has been technology related, I do not see myself as your average IT geek.  I have the ability to translate IT lingo into plain English.  I then match that to the person I’m speaking to and they walk away with an answer that makes sense to them.  I do not talk down to them, I do not make them feel stupid, and I do not talk over their heads.  I simply pay attention to my customer and provide them with the answer.  Sometimes that answer is what they want to hear and sometimes it is not, but they do not go away without one.

I am a motivated, personable business professional with multiple college degrees and a successful career in higher education. I have a talent for quickly mastering technology with a strong background in Macintosh and Windows software and hardware. I am flexible, versatile, and able to maintain composure and a sense of humor under pressure. I am competent with a demonstrated ability to easily transcend various technical abilities of customers.
